‘A praying parish is a growing parish ; a growing parish is a praying parish .‘ Please join us in praying for the following intentions this month.

• For the restoration of the power sharing executive in Northern Ireland so that the process which took so long to establish peace may continue to bear fruit.
• For our country that through the prayers of St Teresa of Kolkata we may be spared the evil of legalised abortion which she said was the greatest threat to peace.
• For our children that at home and in school they may be supported to grow in the knowledge and love of God and His truth. As the new school year begins we ask the Holy Spirit to help parents and teachers in this task.
• Through the prayers and assistance of Our Lady of Sorrows those who suffer in various ways may be enabled to carry their crosses.
• For our public representatives that they may be mindful of the grave responsibility they bear to the electorate to act justly in every way as they levy taxes and distribute funds so that all may have a home, and a living wage and be enabled to live in peace and security.
• That the Pope’s intention for September that our parish may be missionary in spirit may inspire us all to pray for and reach out to those who no longer practise their faith. We pray that we may find ways to communicate the joy of the Gospel.
