SPY WEDNESDAY

The Chrism Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Smith with the priests and religious of the Diocese of Meath in the Cathedral on Wednesday 23 March at 7pm.  In the context of the Jubilee of Mercy, several priests will be available to hear confessions in the Cathedral from 6pm.  People may wish to take the opportunity to visit the Holy Door and obtain the jubilee indulgence.

During Mass the priests of the Diocese will renew their commitment to priestly life and the Holy Oils for use during the year in the parishes of our diocese, will be blessed.

 

HOLY THURSDAY

Confessions  10am

The Lord’s Supper, takes place in Ashbourne Church, 8pm followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the new John Paul II Oratory.

Adoration will conclude at 10.30pm with Night Prayer for Vocations.

GOOD FRIDAY

Confessions – 10am-11am

The Passion of the Lord, Ashbourne, 3pm

Stations of the Cross, Ashbourne, 7pm.

A collection will be taken during Good Friday ceremonies for the suffering Church in the Holy Land and the Middle East.  Since the needs are so vast and the suffering of Christians and other faith groups so great, Pope Francis has encouraged all Catholics to support our persecuted brothers and sisters.

This years portrait, ‘Mary, Mother of Sorrows’ created by students from Ashbourne Community School, will adorn Ashbourne Church.  We invite all to spend some time in quiet prayer and reflection.

 

HOLY SATURDAY

Confessions—10am-11am;

Easter Vigil, Donaghmore, 8pm;

Easter Vigil, Ashbourne, 9pm.

Your prayers are asked for all participants in the parish RCIA programme as they are received into the Church on Holy Saturday.

We give thanks for their fruitful participation in preparation for Sacraments and express also our deep gratitude to the RCIA preparation team in the parish.
