Journey with the Relic of Mother Teresa
Tuesday, July 11th 2017

The Relics will arrive in Ashbourne-Donaghmore Parish, Thursday 27th July, beginning with procession at 8pm, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, recordings of Mother Teresa during her visit to Ireland in 1993, Rosary and Benediction.  Veneration of the relic will follow Benediction.  Members of the Malayalam Community from Kerala will lead prayers in their own language after veneration of the relic.

The Knights of Columbanus received the relic of St. Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa) from the Sisters of Charity and have arranged for it to tour Ireland to facilitate its veneration.

On Friday 28th July, the daily 10am Mass will be offered in memory of St. Teresa of Calcutta.  The relic will be available after Mass for veneration.

After departing Ashbourne-Donaghmore Parish on Friday 28th July, the Relic – a muslin cloth bearing the blood of St Teresa, encased in a cross – will be brought to the Archdiocese of Dublin until it will be brought to Newry Cathedral on Friday 11 August where it will take up permanent residence.
