November Prayer

Lord our God, we kneel in awe before You as we reflect on Your power, majesty, justice and mercy.  Heavenly Father, You created us for Heaven and when we disobey You, Your love calls us to reconcile ourselves with You through the mercy of Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord and King.  Through the person of the priest, and the outpouring of your grace in the Sacrament of Confession, You invite us to the heavenly banquet of Holy Communion.

As at the first Passover in Egypt, we partake in the sacrificial offering of the flesh and blood of The Lamb of God under the appearance of bread and wine.  Lord Jesus, help us to appreciate that the Mass is both Calvary and The Last Supper and to cherish the opportunities You give us to reverently participate in the Eucharist, since we cannot live as You command without this nourishment.

We unite our prayers, and the indulgences offered by Your Church, to those of all the saints, especially our Irish saints, to ask Your mercy for sinners and relief and release for the souls in Purgatory particularly our loved ones.

We pray with the Holy Father that the lonely may experience Your closeness in their prayer and in the prayerful and practical support of the community.

As we celebrate your presentation in The Temple, we ask you Mary, mother and teacher of Jesus, to pray for priests. religious and seminarians that they teach us the faith with truth and love.

With Mary, we ask the saints in Heaven to pray for us that we too may be made worthy of the promises of God. Amen
