All-Saints Halloween Party
Wednesday, October 23rd 2019

All-Saints Halloween Party takes place in the Parish Hall, Ashbourne on Thursday 31st October (eve of ‘All Saints Day’) from 6.30pm-8.30pm.  Children and adults are invited to model their costume on a saint.  Check out some costume ideas on www.catholicicing.com / www.catholicinspired.com.

Admission is Free!! The party will be celebrated with Games, Music and plenty of nice treats. 🙂 It promises to be fun for all the family. We invite children to be accompanied by and adult.

Why do we celebrate Halloween with All Saints party?

The word Halloween literally means “hallowed evening,” and was previously known to early European celebrators as All Hallows’ Eve.  All Hallows’ Eve (31st October) and All Saints’ Day (1st November) both paid homage to saints (“hallows” = saints).  The name was eventually shortened to “Halloween,” which we know and love to this day.

Think of the ‘Our Father’ when we pray “hallowed be thy name”.
