Parish Prayer Ministry February 2018
Thursday, January 25th 2018

‘A praying parish is a growing parish ; a growing parish is a praying parish .‘ Please join us in praying for the following intentions this month.

In union with Pope Francis we pray that those who have material, political or spiritual power may resist the lure of corruption.

That the Most Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God will intercede for us to protect our country from the evil of abortion.

Through the prayers of Our Lady of Lourdes and St Blaise, bishop and martyr, may the sick amongst us may be healed of their infirmities.  May those who minister and care for them be rewarded for the dignity and care they afford to the sick.

Following the example of the old man Simeon who recognised in the baby Jesus the promised Saviour of the world, may never be afraid to acknowledge before all people, by our words and actions, that Jesus is truly God made man sacrificed for us on the cross and ever present to us in the Blessed Sacrament.

As Lent begins, may each of us resolve to live our faith more earnestly by renewing the practise of fasting on Ash Wednesday, practising charity to one another in word and deed; giving time each day to personal and family prayer; depriving ourselves so as to share whatever we can afford with those less well off.

Thank You for hearing our prayers. Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary , Gloria.
