September Parish Prayer 2016
Tuesday, August 30th 2016

MTLord open our lips to praise Your Holy Name through the merits of the saints whose feasts we celebrate this month.

Blessed be Mary the great Mother of God born Most Holy, and blessed be her Most Holy Name.  Pray for us Blessed Lady that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.  Mary you stood at the foot of the cross to comfort Jesus.  Mother of Sorrows pray for us and comfort us when we fail in our daily efforts to be true to our calling to follow Jesus.

Angels of God messengers, guardians, healers and warriors pray for us, defend us from the wiles of the devil, heal us  and,  at life’s end, lead us into the presence of The Most Holy Trinity and the bliss of eternity.

St Matthew, patron of tax collectors and sinners, pray for us and especially all those entrusted with the public purse that justice may be the measure of all their transactions.

St. Pio, stigmatised priest and gifted confessor, pray for priests that they may make themselves more readily available in the Sacrament of Confession.

Sts John Chrysostom and Robert Bellarmine, pray for priests and catechists that they may worthily proclaim the word of God and draw many to holiness of life in Christ.

St. Vincent de Paul, priest and founder of the Vincentian Congregation and the Daughters of Charity, pray for us that we may always be mindful of the spiritual and material needs of our neighbour.

St Gregory The Great, Pope and patron of musicians, pray for us that our church music may always serve to lift our hearts towards the divine.

Sts Ciaran, Ailbe and Adoman. monks of the early Irish church, intercede for us and for our country that we may remain faithful to God and His Holy Commandments.

All you holy Martyrs Sts. Cyprian (Carthage), Januarius of Naples, Wenceslaus of Bohemia (central Europe) Andrew Kim and companions of Korea, and Lawrence Ruiz and companions of Japan, intercede for the peoples of the world that we may be preserved from war and disaster.  Pray for those innocent people caught up in so many conflicts right now that they may experience relief and consolation in their sufferings.

St Jerome, gifted linguist and scholar, patron of librarians, pray for us that we may not misuse the gift of language and that by studying and praying on the Word of God Christians everywhere may become more aware of their mission to spread the good news of salvation to all at home and abroad.

St. Teresa of Kolkata, wonderful servant of the Lord in the poorest of His poor, pray for us that we may never turn our backs on the needy, young or old. Intercede for us that we be imbued with great respect for all human beings from the first moment of conception to natural death. Amen

Lord Jesus Christ Son of The Eternal Father have mercy on us sinners. Amen
